Qatar University has signed a partnership agreement with Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) under the terms of which QAPCO will sponsor a number of events of the Faculty of Engineering for three academic years from 2014 to 2017 including events listed in the faculty's plan this year and the coming years.
The agreement was signed during at a press conference held in the presence of President of Qatar University Dr. Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad, QAPCO Vice-Chairman and CEO Dr. Mohamed Youssuf Al-Mulla and a number of officials of Qatar University and QAPCO.
Dr. Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad said Qatar University is proud of its close cooperation with QAPCO, describing it as an effective company in terms of communication with Qatar University to prepare qualified engineers able to support and drive of Qatar's industrial and technological future to ensure development and sustainability.
She added that this this partnership between the University of Qatar and QAPCO will deepen cooperation and communication between the university and the company, and promote partnership between the two institutions.
On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mulla said it is important to support activities that promote areas of engineering and technology for students, because that will help ensure the competitiveness of our country in the future and will pave the way for the next generation who will share with us our passion for engineering. ''Every industry rely on the development of the next generation, this is true especially in the petrochemical industry, where companies such as we are always seeking to develop talented individuals in order to be able to maintain a high level of operational performance we have achieved over the past four decades, " Dr. Al-Mulla added.
